The Karnataka NEET UG counselling 2024 is being held for admission to 10,995 MBBS and 3,445 BDS seats available at different medical colleges of the state. Seat allocation will be based solely on the merit list published by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
Karnataka NEET UG 2024 Counselling Merit List
The Karnataka Examinations Authority will release the Karnataka NEET Counselling 2024 merit list in the form of a seat allotment list. The state rank list for MBBS and BDS admissions will be based on the marks obtained by candidates in the NEET UG 2024 exam. The first provisional seat allotment list was published on August 7, 2024, and the date for the release of the second provisional seat allotment has been extended to August 25, 2024.
The state rank list will allow students to see their position in the state merit list and plan accordingly for the colleges available in their rank range. Karnataka NEET 2024 Counselling Important Dates
Eligible applicants were able to submit their option entries from July 23 to August 4, 2024. According to a notification from the authorities, the results of the first mock allotment were released on August 7, 2024, after 2:00 PM. The second mock allotment results are scheduled to be released on August 25, 2024, after 8:00 PM. A second opportunity for changing option entries was available from August 20, 2024, to August 22, 2024, until 10:00 AM.
The final seat allotment result for the first round of Karnataka NEET Counselling 2024 will be published on September 1, 2024, after 6:00 PM. Candidates will be able to modify their option entries for the first round of final seat allotment from August 25 to August 27, 2024. Karnataka NEET Counselling 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants for Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2024 must adhere to the eligibility criteria set by KEA. The general eligibility requirements are outlined below:
- Citizenship: Candidates must be Indian citizens.
- Domicile: For 85% state quota seats, candidates must be domiciled in Karnataka.
- NEET Score: Candidates must have achieved a score above the NEET qualifying marks to be eligible for counselling.
Karnataka NEET Eligibility Requirements for Government Seats:
- Candidates should have completed both Class 10 and Class 12 from schools located in Karnataka. Additionally, they must have spent a minimum of seven years studying in government schools in Karnataka.
- Alternatively, candidates must have completed Class 11 and Class 12 from schools in Karnataka, and at least one parent must have studied at a college in Karnataka for a minimum of seven years.
- As another option, both the candidate and at least one parent must speak Kannada, Tulu, or Kodava as their mother tongue, and the parent must be a resident of Karnataka.

Along with the acknowledgment slip, qualified applicants will receive a confidential passcode essential for filling out their choices on the ‘Option-entry portal’ for Karnataka NEET Counselling 2024. It is important to keep this passcode private and maintain its confidentiality at all times.
Candidates can list an unlimited number of preferences during the counselling process. However, be aware that only the choices entered on the last day of the specified schedule will be finalized and used for seat allocation. This process is a one-time event; candidates who have made their selections in the initial round cannot submit new choices in later rounds. Nonetheless, candidates are allowed to update their choices within the available options.
